Pirouettes work for bamboo and Whoppers look like tiny coconuts |
My daughter is about to turn 4 (on August 6th)! Here are some shots from her Moana-themed birthday party :) I put everything together myself from things I saw on Pinterest and came up with on my own :) The table skirt is from Party City. The table cover is from Dollar Tree. The backdrop is a shower curtain that I use for photos and have had for a few years. I was actually a cake decorator for 12 years before starting my business, so it's fun to pull out those skills every now and then! Figures are from The Disney Store and are on crazy sale right now. These cupcakes are my favorite part! Tamatoa is also from the Disney Store set. The cupcake liners and sprinkles are from Walmart. The food cards were digital files I bought from Etsy. I printed out the fish hooks, cut them out, and glued them to toothpicks. The Heart of Te Fiti cookies were sugar cookies I picked up at Walmart and then I drew the swirl on them with green Pillsbury frosting. The Lagoon Fish were simple enough - just Goldfish crackers and a shovel from the Dollar Tree! I made this from a piece of foam board and flowers all from the Dollar Tree. I cut the foam board in half so it wasn't too huge. I hot-glued all the flowers on first and then filled in the gaps with the leaves. The Mother Island aka veggie plate. I just made sure the ends of the broccoli and cauliflower were pointed inward so they looked as bushy as possible. Driftwood pretzels are a cheap and easy kid favorite The ocean is a big part of Moana, so I had to include it! Blue Jello (I used limited edition Trolls cotton candy Jello) topped with Cool Whip. It's hard to see here, but I spiked the Cool Whip up a bit to make it look sort of like waves. Giant hawk Maui from the Disney Set Moana plates and napkins fro Party City For the kids to take home I had leis, grass skirts, and Kokamora! I bought the coconuts at Party City and the faces/body parts were a free download that I printed, cut out, and hot glued to the coconuts. The leis are from Amazon and the grass skirts are from the Dollar Tree.
