What to expect from your Family Session
Once I've received your retainer fee reserving your date, I'll send over your contract confirming your date and session time. I have a location list of all my favorite spots for you to choose from for your outdoor session. For studio sessions I have a questionnaire that I will send that includes a link to view all of my backdrop, outfits, etc. You can check out this section for tips on what to wear. A day or two before your session I will send an email confirming the session time and location as well as directions for where we will meet. I'll also keep an eye on the weather forecast and contact you to check-in a couple of days before your session if it looks like we might have bad weather. I'll let you know if I feel the session may need to be moved earlier or later in the day or re-scheduled. I do my best to make the best decisions based on my years of experience dealing with the weather for sessions, but in the end I'm only human and sometimes I make the wrong call and we have to roll with the punches.
The day of your photography session we'll meet at the location you've chosen or at my studio. For outdoor sessions I'll already have locations and poses in mind, but you are welcome to let me know if you see a spot that you want me to use or if you want to switch up the poses I put you in. For the studio I'll have your chosen backdrop(s) up and ready and we'll do a variety of poses with each one. For both outdoor and indoor sessions the general shots I try to get are: the family posed together, siblings posed together, mom with kids, dad with kids, mom and dad together, and kids individually. I usually try to throw in some candid shots after the more formal poses. For outdoor session sometimes I'll bring something to sit on or a blanket, or we'll use things in the area like rocks, stairs, etc. For the studio I have a variety of chairs, benches, etc, as well as props that work better with babies. If things don't go to plan, just remember that kids have big personalities and bad days just like the rest of us, and I'll do everything I can to capture great images! Please do not be late to your session since many times I will have a client before or after your scheduled time, especially outdoors, and there's also a good chance that we will miss the best light for your location (sometimes a few minutes late can make a big difference). If you are late I will do the best I can in the time we have remaining. |
AFTER YOUR SESSION
I always try to do a sneak peek within a few days of your session. I know photoshoots can be stressful and you are excited to see what I have captured! If you've given your permission I will share the sneak on Facebook, otherwise I will send it to you via email.
Within 1-2 weeks you will receive an email with a link to your online gallery. Your gallery will be active for 1 week and password protected for your privacy. You may share the gallery link and password with anyone you wish. If you purchased the Full Family Session you will see a "Download" button, and if you purchased the Mini Family Session the gallery email will have instructions for choosing your images. When you click the button to download the images you will receive another email that contains the link to download the .zip file containing your images. There will also be files included in your gallery such as the Print Release and a Read Me file that goes over some of the do's and don'ts for your photos. If you order professional quality prints through your gallery they will be shipped directly to you from the lab. Prints generally arrive in 2-4 days. If there are any issues with your prints let me know so I can contact the lab to have the issues dealt with. |
