I was so happy to be able to help our our cousins with some updated family photos! They picked a perfectly sunny fall day to drive over an hour to meet me at Fabyan Forest Preserve in Batavia. We had so much fun ! This was my first photo shoot that included more than one family. We ended up having the PERFECT fall day (aside from it being a bit windy). We met up at Leroy Oaks in St. Charles to take advantage of the barns as well as the trees and prairie grasses. At the beginning of the session we were even treated to an impromptu meeting with a couple horses! The ladies riding them were nice enough to let me take some photos of one of the families interacting with them (sadly the other family hadn't arrived yet). I was also able to get some use out of an antique chair I picked up earlier that morning! It went with their clothing so well! All in all, this quickly became one of my favorite photo shoots so far :) I didn't actually take these last two photos. As a way of bribing the two (very tired of being at a photoshoot) kids to stand in the doorway, I let them each take some photos of their sibling with their mom. They had a lot of fun and I was able to get them to both smile and pose for me! (see the photo above for the result)
My friend Sandra came out to St James Farm with her family after I asked if anyone wanted to join me for a free shoot as I explored the grounds. We found some really lovely places and I know that I will be using this venue a lot in the future!
